The ITS project of the Tallinn ring road T11 km 30,1-34,5 Kanama-Valingu, which was carried out by TRAFFEST on behalf of AS TREV-2 Grupp, has been completed and the implementation of the variable information traffic signs together with the Estonian Transport Administration was successfully completed on 03.01.2024.
During the project, we installed a total of 23 VMS, 2 traffic cameras, 2 traffic counters and 1 road weather station on the route.
In the winter period, from the Saue intersection to the end of the 2+2 road section in Valingu, the maximum speed limit will be 100 km/h in good road conditions.
As an innovative solution, the Transport Administration will implement a system to warn vehicles coming from the ramps in the direction of Keila in the Kanama traffic junction and in the area of the Saue intersection. If a vehicle is detected on the Tallinn-Pärnu motorway ramp heading towards the Tallinn ring road, the “Other dangers” warning sign and the 70 km/h speed limit signs will be illuminated. After the joining vehicle leaves the intersection, the signs go out. The system is installed for road safety purposes.
The Kanama-Valingu section of the Tallinn ring road is part of the main international road, that belongs to the pan-European transport network TENT-T.
