Road weather stations

Road weather station sensors measure different road and weather parameters: air temperature and humidity, road surface and road cover temperature, thickness of water/ice, existence of snow, black ice and chlorides, precipitation, visibility, wind speed and direction.
The information received is used for making traffic decisions, for example changing the maximum speed limit, as well as for planning road maintenance.
The road weather stations are connected with traffic management systems, if possible. Thus, an opportunity will be created for providing operational information on changing road conditions to drivers.”
