🚦Tartu is moving towards a self-driving future – TRAFFEST is helping pave the way

02.05.2025

🚗 Tartu’s self-driving car is getting smarter.
Developed by researchers at the University of Tartu, the Bolt-branded Lexus is now navigating even more complex city areas on its own – from the Delta Centre to Lõunakeskus. By the end of the fifth testing period, the vehicle can handle a variety of routes, including those to the bus station and railway terminal. Hopefully, by next spring, everyone interested will have a chance to take a test ride.
🚦 TRAFFEST is proud to have contributed to this progress.
In collaboration with the University of Tartu, we made several city traffic lights machine-readable – real-time signal data from the city centre and Riia Street is now publicly available. These open data help self-driving vehicles navigate more efficiently and safely in urban traffic.
💡 TRAFFEST makes traffic lights readable not just for people – but for machines too🤗
