In the city of Tartu, a large and important project undertaking has been underway for a year- the reconstruction and expansion of Põhja puiestee and Museum Road. In the spring, the construction works reached the Põhja puistee and from 1 April the Jaama tn – Sõpruse pst – Põhja pst intersection was also closed to traffic.
We are pleased to announce that the intersection with the new traffic lights, built by TRAFFEST on behalf of TREF AS, is now open again!
The upgrading of Põhja puiestee and its connection to Museum Road is one of Tartu’s most important road construction projects, which aims to change the city’s traffic flow and reduce traffic congestion on Narva Road. In addition to redirectiong car traffic, the new road will also be an important part of the main network of Tartu bike paths. The new traffic corridor will connect the Põhja puiestee, starting from Sõpruse puiestee, with the Museum Road in front of the ERM.
