In recent days, an important step forward has taken place on Estonia’s roads 🚦 – the Estonian Transport Administration has started displaying Waze hazard alerts on variable-message highway info boards.
Information about hazards on the road – 🚧 obstacles, 🚗 stationary vehicles, and 💥 accidents – is now reaching all drivers, not just app users.
TRAFFEST’s role has been to help bring this logic into the “real world” – from the operation of the traffic management system to ensuring that the right information reaches the right place at the right time ⏱️. This has involved extensive development, testing, and collaboration 🤝, with many thanks to the Estonian Transport Administration and SWARCO ITALIA s.r.l.
💡 The most important thing is not the technology itself, but the impact: better visibility of hazards, faster reactions from drivers, and safer traffic for everyone. This is the direction in which traffic management is moving – real-time data, smarter infrastructure, and improved collaboration. And honestly – it’s a great feeling to play a role in making it happen 🤗.
Thank you to all partners and road usres who contribute to making traffic safer 🙌
📍 If you notice a hazard on the road and it is already in Waze, please confirm it, but always act safely!
